We are now open for routine care: Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Update:

Smart Pediatric Dentistry truly miss seeing all of our patients during this pandemic. We strongly feel that proper and routine dental care is key in the overall health of children. With that said, we are excited to be open once again and are looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces. We are writing a quick post on both why we temporarily closed and how we plan to move forward from here. As always, our main goal is to provide our patients and parents with the best dental experience possible while keeping everyone as healthy as possible.

Why did we close?

On March 24th, 2020, the State of Utah along with the Utah Department of Health limited medical, dental, and veterinarian professionals to emergency and urgent care only.  The main reason for this was to be proactive in preserving the masks, gowns, gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPE) that may be greatly needed by our healthcare colleges in the even that the pandemic overwhelmed our medical system here in Utah.   We voluntarily followed this directive and have been limiting our practice to emergency and urgent care only.

On April 21, 2020, The State of Utah along with the Utah Department of Health rescinded the March 24th order.  They found that hospital systems report sufficient supplies of PPE to meet the needs at this time.  This means that we are once again electing to see our patients for both routine and emergency care.  We will be follow guidelines set forth by the Utah Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and American Dental Association (ADA) in order to help slow the spread of Covid-19.

So what’s next?

Below are the guidelines put in place in order to keep our patients and our staff safe as we deliver premium dental care. The Covid-19 pandemic is an every evolving and always changing situation.  We will have updates as needed.  Thank you for your patience, and for trusting us in caring for your children.

National Dentist Day at SMART Pediatric Dentistry in Utah

Pediatric dentistry in Utah

March 6th is National Dentist Day, and at SMART Pediatric Dentistry, we’re excited to celebrate with you and your family! With offices located in Pleasant Grove, Provo, Saratoga Springs, Spanish Fork, and Vineyard, Utah, we’re dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care to our patients. In this blog post, we’ll explore the importance of National Dentist Day and how we can help you and your family maintain optimal oral health.

Recognizing the Importance of Dentists

National Dentist Day is a special day set aside to recognize and appreciate the important role that dentists play in our lives. Dentists are responsible for keeping our teeth and gums healthy, preventing dental diseases, and helping us achieve beautiful, confident smiles. It’s important to acknowledge and thank dentists for their hard work and dedication to improving oral health.

Importance of Regular Dental Check-ups

Regular dental check-ups are crucial to maintaining optimal oral health. At SMART Pediatric Dentistry, our team of highly trained and experienced dentists and dental hygienists provide comprehensive dental check-ups to our patients. During these check-ups, we assess the health of teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues, and detect any early signs of dental diseases such as cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer.

Importance of Good Oral Hygiene Habits

In addition to regular dental check-ups, good oral hygiene habits are essential to maintaining optimal oral health. Our team at SMART Pediatric Dentistry in Utah provides education and guidance to our patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques, as well as the importance of a healthy diet for strong teeth and gums. By practicing good oral hygiene habits at home, you can help prevent dental diseases and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile.

Importance of Pediatric Dentistry

At SMART Pediatric Dentistry in Utah, we specialize in pediatric dentistry, which focuses on the oral health of children from infancy through adolescence. We understand that a child’s first dental visit can be intimidating, which is why we strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for our young patients. We provide gentle and compassionate care to help children feel at ease during their visit and promote a positive attitude towards dental care.
